A bit about me....

Being raised basically in a cornfield in rural Illinois, I always enjoyed an active lifestyle and the outdoors. When not studying, playing some sport or another, or racing bare-footed through the pastures, my nose was buried in books. Fortunately, I was also able to live in some of the worlds I read about through travel. Half of my family lived in Germany; we grew up bilingual and lived with my grandparents every summer. By traipsing through various states and countries, I both developed a fascination with the differences and kindnesses among people, as well as a desire to assist in somehow bettering our world.

After giving way to my intense work ethic and taking seemingly every class under  the sun at the University of Michigan, from creative writing, to anthropology, to dinosaurs and other failures, I graduated with distinction and two BAs in German and Psychology. Thereafter my passion morphed into reigniting some sort of creativity and fire in my middle and high school students. I obtained my Master’s in Educational Studies and have been challenging students to think and become more open minded for the past four years.

Passionate about education, I love that I can combine helping other with my endless energy, optimism, interpersonal skills, and creativity.  My favorite part of any job I had has unequivocally been my students, and I look forward to any opportunity to positively impact their lives.
