Hi there!

Currently an educator in South Carolina, I look forward to moving back North and applying my creativity, energy, heart, and strong interpersonal skills to bettering students' learning and lives in a new setting.  Shockingly, I miss snow and ice-cold days! (And, less surprisingly, my family and friends.)

A quick snapshot of myself:

My entire life, I have been eclectic, active, and inquisitive.  Bare feet, overgrown trails, tattered books, and airplanes shaped my childhood as we traveled back and forth between Germany and rural Illinois. Both cultures are a wonderful part of my life; from mashing the languages together as a child to living with grandparents abroad to bicycling the Alps, I am always becoming a more well-rounded, empathetic individual. Through my love for wandering, I also developed a fascination for the differences and kindnesses among people, as well as a desire to somehow improve our world.  This ultimately led to a career in education, a path I felt would simultaneously combine my passions for creativity, intellectual stimulation, adventure, and helping others achieve their dreams.

Today, reading, running, and travel are still among my favorite hobbies, as well as swimming, hiking, and painting.  I am happiest outside, or when solving problems/completing projects, which has been a prominent driving factor in constantly challenging myself.  While I am most enthusiastic about educating my students (in the capacity of teacher, tutor, counselor, coach, & mom) and being in the classroom, I also deeply enjoy continuously learning, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and watching students suddenly realize they just had an entire conversation in German.

Below are a few photos, because they are sometimes better than words:
